On Friday, July 24th, Micah Riley Gates turned one. I can't believe a whole year has passed! He has grown and changed so much. He went from being a tiny little squirt who had us all worried about his weight gain to a healthy little boy with chubby legs, a double chin, and a round belly to prove it. Micah is such a joy to be around, his smiles are contagious and his squeels of delight bring a lot of laughter to our home. He is keeping me on my toes as he moves from one thing to the next, testing the waters (seeing what gets a "No" from Mommy and Daddy) and exploring his surroundings. He is a bit of a dare devil these days, looking to dive off or climb up anything and everything in sight. Should be interesting when he is walking!
To celebrate the big day, we took a trip to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. Micah couldn't do many activities but he enjoyed all the toddler areas where he could crawl around, bang things, throw things, open and close things...without ever being told "No!" :) After the museum, we had dinner in a park, played on a playground, and ended the night with his first taste of ice cream which brought a very big smile to his face.

Happy Bday, Micah! We love the PTMuseum. So fun! Looks like you all had a great day. I think my favorite part would have been switching his carseat forward! I loved when we could finally do that! Rear facing is so isolating...and a lot more work to entertain them on car trips!
Wow! I can't believe you guys have a 1 year old. He's looking pretty big and healthy there. I wish he and Caleb could hang out sometime, but it's kind of a far drive to LA. Take care! Say hi to Tim for me.
